MUGE GOGUS

She was born in Istanbul in 1965. She graduated from the Faculty of Humanities at Istanbul University in 1986. She began her professional career at Eska İnşaat between 1986 and 1990. From 1990 to 1995, she continued her career by designing and producing accessories for some of Turkey’s leading textile companies.She began her artistic journey with the Azerbaijani painter Sadık Babayev and later continued her painting studies with the artist Bahattin Odabaşı.

Between 2007 and 2010, she worked with ceramic artists Şerif Günyar and Ayfer Karamani. In 2010, she started sculpture studies with sculptor Yunus Tonkuş, and during the same period, she began researching and working on glass art at the Altan Sungar Studio. She further advanced her experience in glass sculpture by participating in long-term workshops at the Glass Furnace Foundation (Cam Ocağı Vakfı) with glass artists Frantisek Yanak, Pilar Aldana Mendez, Altan Sungar, and Vlademir Klein.

Since 2007, in the studio she founded, she has been giving ceramic classes and continues to produce her own artistic work since 2017.
